Weather and Xmas did not stop them voting.....

An overcast and dull day on Friday plus proximity to Christmas did not stop over 1000 people from voting Lib Dem and contributing to another election win for Chelmsford Liberal Democrats. However, despite all the leaflets and letters, it was just as well that we kept reminding people to vote. There were still quite a few people who said "Oh, is it today?".

Talking to many people in the ward in recent weeks, it is clear that the traffic problems in Old Moulsham are not going to be solved unless the Conservative council takes positive action to reduce the amount of traffic coming into the town. Their ideas are fixated on getting the traffic to move faster. In the long term, all that would ever do would be encourage more traffic - and make the local pollution worse.
